Building Emotional Resilience in Portsmouth

Building team and organisational resilience, Lakeside 1000 – 18th May 2016, 1.30-4.30pm

Feel awkward or tongue tied at social events, or at work?

Dwell too long on things that people have…or have not said?

Find it difficult managing a large volume of work

Struggle to get on with some of your colleagues?

Get nervous making presentations?

If you’ve answered yes to any of these it sounds as though you could do with building your resilience.

Resilience is a word that describes the ability be confident in ourselves, not be hit too hard by things that don’t go too well and knowing what we can do to achieve this mindset if it doesn’t come naturally.

There has been a huge amount a research in this area that has been carried out over many years, I’ve been involved in some of it myself working with Mind and the University of Oxford on building the resilience of those working in “Blue Light” careers such as police, fire and ambulance workers, and the very good news is that it IS an attribute that we all have the power to develop. We just need to know how. That’s where this workshop comes in.

I have been delivering resilience building training to social workers, teachers, engineers, school children, administrators over many years…in fact with over 3000 people taking part, there are few occupations that I haven’t worked with. The feedback is nearly always the same…

“I wish I had been on this training years ago, it would have made such a difference”.

Many are also eager to share the learning back home and with colleagues they feel could do with being a little more resilient.

No need to worry about any awkward role play either as you won’t have to do anything that might put you out of your comfort zone. Exercises are relaxed and informal, with no “fluffy stuff” …all the content is based on hard science. You will also get the chance to complete your own individual action plan.

This doesn’t all go one way either. Yes, this course is about you, but your organisation will benefit too. With resilience comes greater engagement, motivation and performance, and of course less risk of absenteeism and stress in the workplace, and at only £85 per person what’s not to like?

Book today if you want to answer “yes” to those questions at the start, and if you do I very much look forward to meeting you on the 18th May!
